Economic Impact Payments (Stimulus Payments)

posted May 11, 2020, 7:39 PM by San Francisco VOAD
The Families First Coronavirus Response Act authorized the Treasury Department to issue $1,200 stimulus checks to all taxpayers earning less than $75,000 per year, with the amount of the checks decreasing above that income threshold until they phase out completely at $99,000 in annual income.
To date, approximately 90 million checks have been disbursed, the vast majority to taxpayers for whom the IRS has direct deposit information.
The government is struggling to get the word to tens of millions of taxpayers, the majority of whom likely have very low or no incomes, about their eligibility to receive these payments.
Spread the word and help lower income individuals and families understand they are entitled to receive these payments and understand the process for accessing them.

Here and here are two resources from the Internal Revenue Service that can be printed and distributed.
